Waiting times - PHN Mental Health Service (PHNMHS)

Listed below are waiting times for Primary Health Network Mental Health Service (PHNMHS).

This program is aimed at providing short-term evidence based psychological interventions for people with mental illness or the provisional diagnosis of mental illness in a primary care setting where other pathways such as MBS (Better Access) initiatives are cost prohibitive or not available. The people in the community which PHNMHS benefit are:

• People who are not able to access Medicare funded mental health services
• People who are less able to pay fees
• People who have self harmed or attempted suicide or are at risk of suicide
• People under the age of 25 or over the age of 65
• Women experiencing psychological distress in the pre- or post-natal period
• Carers with a diagnosis of mental illness
• Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
• Children over 12 with or at risk of developing a mental disorder
